My father didn’t lack love. He had his sister — a CNA — caring for him every day. Someone who knew him, who loved him deeply.
But love and caregiving are two different things. And watching her grow frustrated, and watching him struggle, taught me something I’ve never forgotten: even the most devoted family member can’t always be the right caregiver. It’s not a failure of love. It’s just the reality of what professional care requires.
When he passed, I felt a calling I couldn’t ignore. Not to grieve quietly and move on — but to build something better. For the families sitting exactly where mine sat.
Solace Hill was founded in 2025 on one belief: that every person deserves care with dignity, autonomy, and compassion — delivered by someone trained, present, and truly committed to showing up.
